Jean Ignace (ANGUS) DOIRON and Marie Odile (MARY) Pineau

Angus & Mary are remembered for their dedication to their faith and the church, extremely hard-working and always having an open-door to anyone who needed a hand. Surviving through the late 1800's, and raising 11 children during the early 1900's, through 2 World Wars, one having absconded their son for 4 years, must have been daunting.  At a time when communication left families not ever knowing the fate of their loved one for months and years, sometimes not until they showed up home again after the war was over, or they didn't, must have been excruciating for anyone. The Spanish flu of 1918-19, the depression of the 30's, the onslaught of varies diseases such as measles, typhoid fever, small pocks and tuberculosis, which claimed the lives of Imelda and eventually Pepe, were all serious challenges for them, their parents and their children. But obviously they persisted, as we know, with sheer grit and determination, to raise their children and send them off to start families of their own and here we are about to celebrate their legacy in 2024 - adding another 2 generations to this cycle of life and the Antoine Du Royon family tree.
