This is the will of Pepe's grandfather, Jean Charles (also John) leaving 50 acres of land of the homestead to his son John (Jean), who was Pepe's father, and the other 50 acres to Jean's brother Stanislaus (Pepe's Uncle) with the stipulation that if one wanted to sell they had to offer it to the other brother first and that they equally pay the interest on the mortgage on the property of $500.00. He also bequeathed to his daughter Marie (Pepe's Aunt), upon her marriage, 1 cow and 2 sheep and she had to be supported by her brother Jean (John) until she married. He also willed $15 to the Parish Priest to say masses for the "benefit of the souls". Note: Jean Charles would have been 66 when he wrote this will in 1882, his son Jean was 25, his son Stanislaus 20, and daughter Marie was 18. Eventually the land was passed onto Jean Ignace (Pepe).
